The Brief

We were invited to refurbish two key communal spaces at Greathed Manor Care Home: a well-used activities lounge and a smaller, quieter drawing room. The aim was to create environments that would support both social engagement and peaceful retreat, while maintaining the character of the home.

Our Approach

We began by developing a design scheme that balanced warmth, comfort, and practicality. Each space was carefully considered to ensure it felt inviting and easy to use for residents and staff alike.

From there, we managed the full process, including procurement and supply of new furniture, décor, and window dressings. Alongside this, we restored the original flooring, preserving its unique character while applying a specialist anti-slip coating to ensure it met essential care and safety requirements.

The Outcome

The finished spaces offer a natural balance between activity and آرام. The activities lounge now feels bright and welcoming, encouraging social interaction, while the drawing room provides a calm and comfortable setting for quieter moments.

By combining thoughtful design with practical solutions, we created environments that not only feel like home but also support the everyday wellbeing and safety of residents and staff.
