The Brief

The dining room at New Meppershall Care Home was a large, open space that felt underused and lacked warmth and identity. The aim was to transform it into a welcoming, functional environment that would encourage residents to gather, dine comfortably, and enjoy the space throughout the day.

Our Approach

We developed a completely new design scheme to bring structure, warmth, and purpose to the room. Careful consideration was given to layout, ensuring the space felt more inviting and easy to navigate, while still making the most of its size.

Alongside the design, we managed the full project from start to finish, including the supply and installation of all FF&E. This included new flooring, complete redecoration, bespoke window dressings, and the introduction of a fully serviceable kitchenette to better support staff and daily routines. We also applied privacy film to glass door panes, enhancing comfort and dignity for residents without compromising natural light.

The Outcome

The transformed dining room now feels warm, welcoming, and full of life. The improved layout encourages social interaction, while the carefully chosen finishes and furnishings create a calm and comfortable setting for everyday dining.

By combining thoughtful design with practical improvements, the space has been completely reimagined — supporting both resident wellbeing and the smooth running of daily life within the home.
