Marion Lauder – Aviators Lounge
The Brief
At Marion Lauder Care Home, a large, multipurpose dining space sat unused despite its size and potential. The goal was to transform it into a lively, engaging area that would encourage social interaction while reflecting a unique local character, inspired by the home’s proximity to Manchester Airport.
Our Approach
We developed a bespoke aviation-themed pub lounge that combined nostalgia, playfulness, and practical care considerations. The design included a faux bar complete with beer pumps, carefully curated memorabilia celebrating local moments, brewers, and historical highlights. To create an active, social environment, we incorporated a pool table and a safe dart area, giving residents opportunities for games and interaction in a controlled, secure setting.
Our team managed the project end-to-end, overseeing design, procurement, installation, and all fit-out elements. Every detail, from furniture selection to décor and safety features, was carefully considered to ensure the space was both functional and enjoyable.
The Outcome
The former underused dining area is now a vibrant social hub, reflecting the community’s local history while offering residents a fun, engaging environment. The aviation-themed pub lounge encourages interaction, activity, and enjoyment, all while remaining safe, accessible, and welcoming.
This transformation was part of a larger project at Marion Lauder.
